Interesting article in this morning’s Globe & Mail.

This does not exempt you from filing, if you are a US citizen, but it does ease some of the fear around the current IRS program.

What do you mean our cat is not a business expense?

The Burnaby office had its first seminar last year which was well attended.  Co-presented by Cynthia Hamilton and our on-site bookkeeper, Brandy Joyner, this was an opportunity for self-employed business owners to clarify what is and what is not deductible.

Thanks to all who attended.

Our next date is early in February.  Keep an eye on our website for further details.

Annual KHGroup PD day 2011

October 22nd, 2011

The Kemp Harvey Group partners and staff met yesterday in Kelowna for the Annual Kemp Harvey Group Professional Development Day.

Terry Craig from the Osoyoos office presented a personal and corporate tax update. Terry also focused on US filing requirements for US citizens living in Canada. Did you know US taxation is based on citizenship? If you are a US citizen living in Canada, contact your local KHGroup office for your filing requirements.

We also had a very informative session with Eileen Reppenhagen on personal tax credits, specifically in relation to disabilities. Did you know you may be eligible for a reduction of ICBC premiums?

Allison Markin was also on hand to give a presentation on Social Media. Are you following us on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn?
