Laurie Dye being awarded the CGA-BC Life Membership Award by
President Rita Estock |
On October 01, 2005 at the CGABC annual convention awards dinner, Laurie was made a Life Member. The following is the introduction by Past President Len Pietrzykowski…
"The next award is the Life Membership Award. This award is the highest honour that CGA-BC can bestow upon one of its members. It is granted in recognition for meritorious service to the Association and the profession over a period of many years. I now call upon President Rita Estock to present this award to two most deserving recipients.
Our first recipient became involved with CGA-BC in 1965 when he was appointed as the first Chairman of the newly created student council. He received his CGA designation in 1972 and was the first CGA-BC Valedictorian. His involvement continued after graduation. He has been a member of the Education Advisory Group, the Public Practice Advisory Group, the Office Relocation Task Force, the Government Relations Committee, Finance Committee, Maintenance of Standards Committee, and the Ethics Committee. He is currently involved with the CGA-BC Educational Foundation and the Honours & Awards Committee. On the national level, he has been a member of both the Audit Committee and the Audit Standards Committee. From 1975 to 1978 he served on the CGA-BC Board of Governors. He received the Harold Clarke Award in 1989, became a Quarter Century Club member in 1997, and was made an FCGA in 1999.
Ladies and Gentlemen, please join me in congratulating Life Member, Mr. Laurie Dye."
